Gado Da Masu Alhaji Musa Hassan was born in Sabon-Gari Zaria on 27th July 1941.
He started Islamic Education at Sabon Gari Zaria at Mallam Ibrahim School in the late 1940s.
In 1952, he joined U.N.A Primary School at Benin Street of Sabon-Gari, Zaria and later transferred to Tudan Wada Elementary School where he successfully passed his Common Entrance Examination into Zaria Middle School in 1954. By 1955 he proceeded to Giwa Senior Primary School and completed in 1956. He then went to Katsina Teacher’s College where he obtained Grade III and Grade II Teacher’s Certificate from 1957 to 1966. And Advanced Teachers’ College, Zaria and he acquired an N.C.E Certificate in Education. He obtained a B.A Honors in History from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also studied at Oxford University and obtained an International Certificate In Education (I.C.E) and Advanced Certificate in Education (A.C.E). In 1977, he came back to Ahmadu Bello University again to study Masters of Education in Administration and Planning. And he is currently undergoing his PhD in Administration and Planning at ABU, Zaria.
Alhaji Musa Hassan was blessed to rise from the grassroot as a primary school teacher to a Director of Education at both state and federal level. At first, he began as a headmaster then elevated to the position of Assistant Inspector of Education, to Inspector of Education. And he was made to head principal colleges in Kaduna State as principal of Barewa College, Alhuda-Huda College and Commercial College, Zaria. He also became the Director of Education at the Federal Capital Territory.
On the 29th day of July 2001, Alhaji Musa was turbaned as Gado da Masun Zazzau by His Highness Alhaji Dr. Shehu Idris CFR. And in March 2003 he was elevated to council member in addition to Gado Da Masu.
Even after his appointment at the Zazzau Emirate Council, he was privileged given a political appointment as the Chairman of Kaduna State Local Government Asset Sharing Committee in May 2004. And again he was appointed as a Board Member of Trustee of UNDP Kaduna State Chapter in June 2004. He also served as the Chairman of Zaria Pharmaceutical Company Limited, Chairman of Essential Commodities and he served as Deputy Amirul Hajj of Kaduna State under various Political Administrations.
