Katukan Zazzau and the former District Head of Anchau and Kubau, Mallam Ishaku Suleiman was turbaned by the Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Shehu Idris CFR on 22nd April 1988 after the death of his father the then Katukan Zazzau Mallam Suleiman Ishaku. He was formally Ma’ajin Zazzau under the throne of the then emir of Zazzau Alhaji Muhammadu Aminu who turbaned him.
He was born in the year 1935 at Anguwan Kusfa Zaria City. His first school education was Islamic school from 1939 to 1943. Elementary School, Zaria from 1944 to 1947. In 1948, he went to Zaria Middle School to 1949. He also attended Barewa College, Zaria from 1950 to 1951 where he obtained his first leaving school certificate.
Mallam Ishaku obtained various certificates from several places that include; Clerical Training Centre at Institute of Administration Zaria 1954 to 1955, Middle Seniority N.A Officials Course at Institute of Administration Zaria where he learn how to take minute of meetings, Diploma Course in Native Treasury Accounting at Institute of Administration Zaria after which he was made Revenue Officer. And by July 1974, he obtained a certificate at the Institute of Local Government Studies from the University of Birmingham, England.
