Dan Amar Zazzau Abubakar Alhaji Balarabe was born on 2nd February 1949 in the city of Maiduguri, Borno State.
He attended Yarwa Junior Primary School in 1957 and finished in 1960, then senior Primary School from 1960 to 1964 at Kofar Kuyanbana.
He did a Preliminary Course in Local Government in the year 1967. In 1969, he went to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and acquired a Diploma in Local Government and in 1978, he obtained Professional Diploma in Accounting and Auditin (PDAA) from the Kaduna State Polytechnic. He also acquired an Advanced Diploma in Public Administration (ADPA) from Ahmadu Bello University from 1983 to 1984.
Abubakar Alhaji Balarabe had attended several seminars and workshops from which he was awarded certificate, and they include; Certificate in Revision on Accounting Auditing Taxation and Nigerian Company Law from September to November 1984 at the Kaduna Polytechnic, Certificate in Public Sector Accounting from January to March in the 1986 in University of Ife and then Certificate in Internal Auditors Technique Towards Effective Accounting in 1991 from Kaduna Polytechnic.
Haven’t obtained various certificates, he is also a Member Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Nigeria (MCPA) and a Member Institute of Internal Auditors of Nigeria (MCIA).
His first appointment was in 1989 as Representative of Zazzau School to 2001 when he retired and was turbaned as the Dan Amar Zazzau, District Head of Basawa by His Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Shehu Idris CFR on the year 2001 and Retired as Fief Holder on 19th May, 2018.
