A man whose biography is full of success and worthy of emulation by the younger generation. A man whose origin is strong and adorable. Sabo is a true great-grandson of Malam Muhammadu who reigned in the 18th Century.
Malam Muhammadu was the closest companion of Mallam Musa Bamalli – The first Emir of Zazzau after the Uthmaniyya Jihad. Their strong association and companionship grew and continued even after their lives as their children, the 6th Emir of Zazzau Malam Sidi Abdulkadir and Malam Abubakar Liman Durum were close associates also. This resulted to appointment of Malam Liman Durum as the Secretary (Magatakarda) to Emir Sidi Abdulkadir. This position, however, continued to reign in Malam Abubakar Liman Durum’s family where his son; Malam Shehu Usman Sambo was appointed as Magatakarda to the 13th Emir of Zazzau Mallam Alu Dansidi.
Mallam Usman (Magatakarda Sambo); the grandfather of Alhaji Sabo Muhammad Tukur; was the eldest son of Magatakarda Abubakar Liman Durum and was blessed with many children of which Mallam Muhammad Tukur; the father of Sabo; was the eldest.
Born in the year 1956 and like any other children of Zaria origin, Alhaji Sabo started pursuing his education with Qur’anic school (Makarantan Allo) at early age from his grandfather Magatakarda Sambo in Kwarbai Zaria City. His quest for western education began in 1963 where he attended Giwa Seior Primary School, Clerical Training Center Sokoto in 1972, Kaduna Polytechnic in 1982, Ahmadu Bello University in 1984, 2009 and 2015 where he presently obtained his 2nd degree (MPA) in Local Government Studies.
Sabo began his working career as a Clerical Officer with the then Zaria Native Authority Education Department in 1970. He rose to the position of Director of Finance/Treasurer – a position he held until his retirement in 2005.
As a result of his vast wealth of experience, Sabo’s service was sought for by the Department of Local Government and Development Studies, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria to serve as a lecturer. He is presently serving there in same capacity. Happily married with children, Sabo made and is still making impact to his community.
Doubtlessly, his generosity, benevolence and philanthropism to the society through creation of employment opportunity to the youths, soughing for admissions into various institutions, charitable donations and youth empowerment were assumed to be some of his attributes that attracted His Royal Highness, The Emir of Zazzau and his Council to confer him with this title.
