Born on 2nd of July, 1964. In the ancent city of Zaria to Alhaji Suleiman Yaro the Son of Sarkin Yakin Zazzau Lawal Ashafa. Alhaji Musa was brought up by Alhaji Shehu Yaro the immediate younger brother of Alhaji Suleiman Yaro in Kaduna where he began his primary Education at the Local Government Educational Authority Primary School (LEA) Tudun Wada Kaduna, where he bagged his First School Leaving Certificate. From there he enrolled his Secondary School Education at Rimi College Kaduna, where he passed the General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 1982. He proceeded to the College of Arts, Science and Technology Zaria, where he sat for and passed the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Examination in 1984.
Armed with a good IJMB result, he gained admission into the Prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria for a Bachelor’s of Science (BSC) degree in Business Administration in 1987.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Mardannin Gabas Return to his alma mater for Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and bagged same in 1994.
In 2003, he bagged a Postgraduate Diploma in Transport Management from Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) here in Zaria.
Mardannin Gabas started his career in the public service with the Kaduna State Board of Internal Revenue as Tax Officer II in 1988 and rose to the rank of Senior Tax Officer in 1994. After which he joined the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) as Assistant Manager in the Procurement Division, and has by dint of hard work and unwavering commitment to duty earned promotion to the post of Assistant General Manager (AGM) Procurement.
At the professional front, Mardannin Gabas is Certified Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSM). A Member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), fellow Institute of Chartered Business Consultants of Nigeria and also a member of the logistics and transport London. He has attended several executive management and leadership trainings in Nigeria and overseas.
Having cut his teeth in the Maritime sector working for Nigerian Ports Authority across multiple functions in several port locations and demonstrated peak performance, Mardannin Gabas was appointed as Technical Assistant (TA) Administration to the Managing Director of the Nigerian ports Authority – a position he occupies to date.
Is happily married to Aisha and Lami, and Allah SWT has blessed them with children.
