Alhaji Abubakr Umar, Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta Zazzau was born on the 17th August 1966 at Muchiya Sabon-Gari, Zaria. His educational background started at St. Theresa Primary School, Zaria in 1970, in 1977 he moved to Basawa Teacher’s College where he obtained a Grade II Teacher Certificate. He studies Business Administration at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He acquired Masters Degree in Business Administration in 2002 and another Masters Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy in 2010.
On the 11th April, 2014, His Higness Alhaji Shehu Idris turbaned his as the Makaman Dawakin Zazzau later promoted to Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta Zazzau. till date.
